Year 10 Metal Technology

Course Description

Metal Technology is a five-years course of study, starting in Year 9 and following through to Year 13. This pathway allows students to continue their course of study at tertiary level concentrating on Mechanical Engineering Technology or get in work - based qualifications straight from school.

The Metalwork Project course is designed to introduce Students to the fundamentals of metalworking through the creation of a functional G-clamp made from steel. This hands-on course will cover various aspects of metal fabrication, including design, cutting, shaping, welding, brazing and finishing. Students will gain practical skills and knowledge that can be applied to future metalworking endeavours and this pathway allows students to continue their course of study at level 1 concentrating on Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

Students taking this course will be required to have covered shoes (mandatory). Sandals are not allowed.
