Course Description
A high-powered course introducing 'NZ Aotearoa’s World of Finance.' Covering financial literacy, numeracy, personal + entrepreneurial practical applications, concepts + skills to enable students to participate + act as critically, informed + responsible citizens.
Explore relationships + learning to make sense of their economic world.
Develop, communicate + enjoy financial language + numeracy. Manipulating a range of financial documentation + reports.
Understand how people seek + have sought economic growth through career, business innovation + the impact economic decisions have – explore NZ Aotearoa’s micro + macro-economic structures.
Understand how, why + where producers + consumers interact to make financial decisions – learning about a range of institutions + groups who assist consumers to satisfy their needs + wants - where + why goods + services are produced.
Identification of values + influences: “what is important’ to individuals-whaanau-retailers-nationally – how this may affect our spending, recognizing that people bring different attitudes + values to making economic decisions
Setting/starting up a business: undertake a team presentation – creating a business opportunity. Experience working collaboratively in a team + evaluation by peers.
