Year 10 Music

Course Description

In Year 10 music you will focus on the three aspects of music:  performance, composition and musicology.  In Term One you will develop your performance skills further in group and solo performance projects.  In Term Two you will focus on composition (songwriting or beat-making) to create your own music.  In Term Three you will choose from performance or composition and also learn about the Music Industry and Sound Technology.  In Term Four you will participate in a class concert putting all these skills together.  Throughout the course you will be learning to listen to and analyse how music is put together.

Course Overview

Term 1
In Term One students will develop performance skills further in group and solo performance projects and will complete a practical assessment of a group performance.

Term 2
In Term Two students will focus on composition (songwriting or beat-making) to create their own music and will complete a practical assessment on composition.

Term 3
In Term Three students will choose from performance or composition and also learn about the Music Industry and Sound Technology, and will complete a presentation on Music Industry and Sound Technology.

Term 4
In Term Four students will participate in a class concert putting all skills learnt together and will complete a practical assessment of a performance/technology.
