Course Description

Welcome to Digital Technology at Tuakau College, where innovation and creativity meet the endless possibilities of the digital world. We offer a wide range of interesting topics and skills that are in high demand today, such as coding, robotics, sustainable practices, and design.Throughout the Digital Technology journey, students also learn about the ethical and social implications of coding. They explore topics like cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and responsible use of technology, ensuring they are well-rounded digital citizens.

By Year 10, students expand their programming knowledge further. They delve into object-oriented programming (OOP), gaining a deeper understanding of classes, objects, and inheritance. They use these concepts to develop more advanced programs and applications. Examples of materials used: Code Avengers and Sphero.
