Course Description
An introduction for those students thinking of a future in the world of finance + business. Students are given a useful grounding in financial theory + numeracy.
TE WAKAMAHI MEA I TE TINO - “THE VERY BEST IN BUSINESS” – an overview of micro + macro-economic systems + models - explore the economic problem – supply + demand - production – current economic issues.
TE WHAKAMAHI TUPUNA - “KEEPING TRACK OF IT ALL” - marketing a product - entrepreneurship
TUHINGA O MUA - “PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER” - financial decisions for consumers.
SCAFFOLDING TO NCEA COMMERCE/ACCOUNTING/ECONOMICS
Explore NZ Aotearoa’s economy + how people can participate as critical, informed, responsible citizens.
Understand how people seek + have sought economic growth through business enterprise, innovation.
Study how people apply, develop + design resources + the impact economic decisions has.
Develop financial statistical numeral literacy.
Integrate sources of information, processes + strategies purposefully + confidently to identify + express ideas.
By the end of this course students should be able to:
- organize, design, prepare + publish financial data in a timely manner – SELF-MANAGEMENT
- identify, describe, explain a range of business structures, models + systems – KNOWLEDGE
- investigate, evaluate, make conclusions + justifications – COMMUNICATION
